How does Insights IDS work?

Simply enter a company name or ticker. Our platform automatically analyses the company’s patent portfolio using proprietary algorithms. It generates competitor lists, innovation benchmarks, and strategic reports.

What makes Insights IDS different from traditional IP tools?

Most patent tools are built for lawyers or patent professionals. Insights IDS is purpose-built for investors. Fully automated, jargon-free, and focused on outcomes that matter in due diligence, competitive analysis, and investment decision-making.

Do I need to know about patents or IP law to use this?

No. Insights IDS is designed so any investment analyst, fund manager or corporate researcher can use it without specialist training.

Is this based on AI or LLMs like ChatGPT?

No. Insights IDS uses deterministic, auditable algorithms, not generative AI. Our methodology is designed for regulatory compliance and repeatability, making it suitable for financial workflows that require consistent logic and audit trails.

What companies can I search for?

Any company with a patent portfolio can be searched. Quoted, private, or pre-revenue. You can also filter results to focus on specific geographies or sectors, or limit to public companies only.

What does ‘IP Distance Score’ mean?

The IP Distance Score is one of the proprietary metrics that shows how close or far another company is in terms of its patent activity compared to your target. This indicates direct competitive or technological overlap.

Can I benchmark more than one company at a time?

Yes. Our Benchmarker tool will let you create custom peer groups live on screen. You can drag in multiple companies and instantly see how your target compares across innovation measures, sector activity, or IP footprint.

Can I connect this to Bloomberg ?

Yes. We are working on a FIGO based integration with Bloomberg, also others. These enrich your reports with financials, funding history, and other commercial data.
